Crowley Negro Jailed in Attack On 5-Year-Old

CROWLEY, July 27 — A 30-yearold Crowley Negro is in the Crowley city jail today, charged with the aggravated rape of a five-year-old Negro girl in Crowley on July 24, The affidavit was filed this morning in the office of City Judge Edmund F. Reggie.

Chief Max Barousse identified the man charged as Thomas Washing-r ton.

No bond has been set yet pending a hearing.

The alleged attack took place late, last Saturday night at a West 1 Crowley residence. Barousse said the girl was immediately taken to a physician who said the child had been sexually molested.
