City Judge Reggie Rules on 4 Cases In Crowley Court
CROWLEY, May 20 — Crowley city judge Edmund Reggie yesterday ruled on four cases, continued two and on the motion of assistant District Attorney Philip Chappius, nol prossed four others.
William Williams, of Jennings, was fined $25 or 10 days for speeding in Waal 6 on May 8; Russell C. Heldenbrand, of New Iberia, forfeited a S25 bond when he failed to appear to answer charges of driving 75 miles per hour, also in Ward 6; and Webster Lantz, of Basile, and Beverly Devine both received suspended $25 or 10 day fines for driving with expired li-
. censes.
The non-support cases against Roger Christman, Crowley Negro, and E. G. Pesson, Rayne, wen, continued. The Christman charge, filed by Buelah Mae R. Christman of .503 Ave. C. was moved up to May 26 to allow counsel sufficient time to prepare the case. The Peson trial will be re-fixed at the - convenience of the court.
Judge Reggie, on a nolle proses motion from the assistant district attorney, dropped the disturbing the peace charges against Easton Bergeron and Whitney Viator, Eldridge Spell, and the non-support charge against Fred Million, and the charge of unauthorized use of movables against Nelson Mouton.
Reggie also reported that Liza Jo N. Stelley withdrew the charge filed Monday requesting Curley J Stelley be placed on a peace bond, In the affidavit the complainant stated that the defendant threatened, on May 15 and at various times prior thereto, to take her life and do her bodily harm.
