CROWLEY, La. —The proprietor of a drive - in resau. rant in Crowley was f oun3 guilty of creating. a nuisance by virtue of playing loud jukebox music following a trial in the Crowley City Court Wednesday afternoon.
Judge Edmund M. Reggie fined Dwight Murphy $15 and costs or 10 days in jail plus a $25 suspended sentence contingent upon his quelling the noise in the future.
fn pronouncing sentence, the Judge said that he held the view that those who testified against Murphy were not seeking punishment, but relief and peace in their homes.
The charge against Murphy was brought by Elton Deville, who resides adjacent to the Kozy Korner on S. Parkerson Ave. Others testifying to the loud music being a neisance were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wild-
er and Mrs. Mack Hanagr7ff. Joseph Foreman entered a plea of guilty to disturbing tie peace by being. intoxicated and was fined $15 or 10 days. During the questioning of Foreman, it was learned that when rolice wont to arrest him, he climbed a tree and refused to come down. Officers then summoned firemen. and under threat of having the fire hose turned on him, Foreman came out of tie tree and surrendered to the police.
Clarence D. Hanks entered a plea of driving while intoxicated and was fined $100 and coots or 30 days -in jail. He was admonished by the Judge that another traffic offense on his part would result in revokation of his drivers license.
Willie Thibo was fined $15 or 10 days for disturbing the peace by alarming the public after entering a guilty plea. MO11102

Judge Enrolls Five In School
CROWLEY, La. —Five more persons will receive instruction at t h e Driver Improvement School in Crowley at the direction of Judge Edmund M. Reggie Wednesday following sentencing for traffic violations.
Judge Reggie enrolled Clarence D. Hanks, Hanson A. Fir-min. Jr., Joseph Charles Manuel, Rodney Guidry, and Jog: W. Price for six hours of in-. struction.
CROWLEY, La. --Bonds posted in 69 traffic violations cases, most of them for running stop signs, were ordered forfeited on the state docket of Crowley City Court Wednesday after noon by Judge Edmund M. Reggie.
Entering a plea of not guilty through legal counsel to a charge of simple assault was Mrs. Dwight Murphy of Crowley. Trial date was set for April 19.
Entering pleas of not guilty to two counts of theft by check was Percy Fontenot. His trial was set for April 5. Having no bond, Fontenot was ordered jailed pending trial.
Fugitive warrants were issued for John L. Wynne, Gabriel A. Vallery, and Murphy Roy, who could not be located by law officers. Wynne and Roy are wanted for bad checks and Valery for running a stop sign.
In the lone-support case `of the afternoon. Aaron Achan was ordered to pay for the support of his children or serve a jail sentence. Achan elected to provide financial support.
