54 Traffic Violations
On City Court Docket
CROWLEY, La. —A, total of 54 traffic violations wore presented Wednesday afternoon to Judge Edmund M. Reggie in Crowley City Court by t h e Crowley Police Department testifying to the rigid enforcement of the city ordinances.
The offenses ranged from improper parking to driving while intoxicated. The large majority of the offenses were cleared from the docket through bond forfeitures.
Entering not guilty pleas to disturbing the peace by being intoxicated, driving
!while intoxicated, and resisting arrest was Willie James. His case was set for next Wednesday. Sherry Bouillion entered a guilty plea to reckless driving and was fined $35 and costs and ordered to 'attend Driver Improvement School.
Louis Charles was sentenced to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to disturbing t h e peace by being intoxicated. After forfeiting bonds for reckless driving, Dennis Stewart and Jerry L. Primeaux were ordered to the Driver Improvement School. Gerald Borde entered a plea of not guilty to driving while intoxicated a n d had his trial set for next Wednesday.
Glenwood Hebert forfeited bonds on two counts of overdue parking tickets. Frank John Fowler forfeited a bond for disturbing the peace by being
intoxicated, while Duplessis Broussard entered a not guilty plea to the same charge with trial set for next week.
Forfeiting bonds for disturbing the peace by fighting were Willie Bonin, Louis J. Bonin, Lazime Trahan, and Alfreda Victoria. Andrew J. Henry III forfeited his bond for disturbing the peace by alarming the public, and William L. Knight and Timson Barnes each forfeited bonds for simple battery.
Ordered arrested for not appearing in court were Gabriel Davy, speeding; Garland Hanks, running stop sign; and Joseph D. Breaux, running red light.

Forfeiting bonds for running stop signs were Anthony J. Stevenson, 011is Joseph. Callie B. Thomas, Robert T. Francis,

Sharon Alridge, Francis Lormend, Annie L. Cormier, Evelyn S. Hoffpauir, Catherine A. Sobba, Linton Anderson, Levi Handy, Marie H. LeBlanc, Felton Bill, Arnold W. LeBlanc, Donald J. Gueno, Thomas F. Jackson, Henry T. Johns o n, Larcy R. Dronet and William R. Wainwright.
Improper parking bonds were forfeited by Paul Breaux, Dalton Trahan, Chester Broussard, and August Guidry.
Other bonds forfeited were Alice M. Bennett, failure to yield, Walter Ray Harmon and
Clesma J. Istre, running red light: Merlin J. Hebert, traveling too fast for conditions; and
Mervin Johnson, improper
passing.
Prizes Ready
For Decorators
CROWLEY, La. — Announcement is made today of the prizes that will be awarded for the annual Christmas Lighting and Decorating contest, according to Mrs. Edmund Reggie, eiairman of the Garden Club sponsored event.
A total of $240.00 in cash awards will be given in the following amounts: First place, $35.00: second place, $15.00 and third place, $10.00 in each of two divisions, with two categories in each.
The first division will be for residential entries and they will be judged in two sections, religious theme and other yule themes. The second division is listed as non-residential and will include public buildings, churches, schools and places of business. which will also be judged in two sections, religious theme and other yule themes.
Anyone desiring to enter the annual contest may call Mrs. Ernest Petitjean or Mrs. Wiliam' Broadhurst, any member
the Crowley Garden Club, or Jo art at the Crowley Daily Signal business office.
The cash awards for this year's contest were provided by I Cleco. Bank of Commerce and Trust Co., Louisiana Bank and Trust Co.. The First National Bank, and the Acadia Savings and Loan Association.
