A reply was read from t h e State Highway Department concerning re - surfacing of US 90 from Crowley to Mermen-tau. NO funds are available for the project at this time, according to the department, but W.E. Roberts, district engineer, has been instructed to provide
maintenance along the highway until money is available for the necessary work.
In final action, the police jury addressed a request to the State Highway Department not to abandon roads affected with completion of Interstate 10 at Rayne. Several access roads in that area were scheduled to be abandoned, but the jurors pointed out that these are still widely used and should be maintained as part of the state system.
