Principal topic of speculation in Louisiana political circles is what was behind and what was actually discussed at the gathering of five Deep South governors in New Orleans last week. The group met at the behest df Gov. McKeithen, and that is practically the only sure, thing anyone knows about it.
Great effort was made to keep the session out of the public eye. There was no previous announcement of 'the meeting and in fact w hen Gov. Wallace arrived at the hotel where the gathering was held, his only comment to newsmen who swarmed around him was "I thought you people were not supposed to know about this."
