CROWLEY, La. —Driving an automobile although his driver license was suspended cost Francis James Broussard of Rt. 1, Crowley, a tidy sum of money in a session of state court in Crowley Wednesday afternoon.
After entering a guilty plea to the charge, Broussard was given a sentence of $250 Or 20 days in jail. He was also committed to four sessions of the Driver Improvement School by Judge Edmund Reggie.
Willie James Mayfield of 613 W. Hutchinson Ave., Crowley, was given 21-day sentences on traffic charges of speeding, having no driver license, and having an expired inspection sticker.
Joseph Broussard of 314 Moore Ave., Crowley, entered a plea of guilty to his second offense of driving while intoxicated and
was sentenced to 30 days in jail plus a fine of $250 and costs or 30 days in jail. Broussard was also fined $25 and costs or 10 days in jail for having no driver license.
Joseph Richard of Crowley, already serving out a sentence in the parish prison for writing multiple bad checks, was sentenced to an additional year in prison for writing two more bad checks while on probation. With the court's permission, Richard was permitted to report to a job on week days to help support his family and then report to the oafish jail to serve out his sentence on weekends. It was during his working days that he wrote two bad checks to two different business places in Crowley.
The judge also ordered 36 bonds in traffic cases forfeited.

CROWLEY, La. —Wednesday was traffic court day in the Crowley City Court with a considerable number of cases being processed for the city by Judge Edmund Reggie.
During the arraignment portion of the session Johnnie Fontenot entered a guilty plea to reckless driving and was fined $35 and costs or 20 days and was ordered to the Driver Improvement School. Charles Pridgeon, Jr., entered pleas of guilty to reckless driving and driving with no driver license. He was fined $35 and costs or 20 days on the first count and $25 and costs or 10 days on the second. In addition he was enrolled in the Driver Improvement School.
Anthony Campbell entered guilty pleas to driving while intoxicated and having no driver license. He was sentenced to $125 and costs or 30 days on the first count and $25 and costs or 10 days on the second. Campbell also became a student in the Driver Improvement, School.
Forfeiting bonds for improper
parking were Charles Johnson, Mrs. Sidney Hoffpauir, Louise Landry, Hannelare Valiar, Ronald Wayne Perrodin, Thorgersen Dugar, Maudrey T. Comeaux, and Michael Cross.
Forfeiting bonds for speeding were Haywood 0. Moore, Virley Garrick, and Alden H. Chase. Forfeiting bonds for failing to yield were Norma Nordyke, Eva M. Cormier, Joseph Anderson Junior and Raymond Mayfield.
Others forfeiting bonds were Walter Gabriel and Johnny L. Mitchell, Jr., running stop sign; Joseph Anderson, Jr., expired driver license; Danny W. Boudreaux, improper backing; Gary W. Hoffpauir, improper mufflers; John E. Landry, U-turn at traffic light; Mack Neil Lantier, improper passing; Billy R. West and Charles W. Broussard, travelling too fast for conditions; Ronald G. Spell, improper lane usage; Bernice Mouton, no driver license; Connie Melancon, reckless driving; and Eleanor Comeaux, hit and run driving.
