Edmund M. Reggie has distinguished himself as an early starter in the Crowley community where he was born and grew up. He was graduated from St. Michael School and the University of Southwestern Louisiana with honors and at the age of 19 years was an instructor at Tulane University, where he received his J.D. degree in 1049.
When he was 24 he became Crowley City Judge to become the youngest judge in America. When he was 30 he organized the Acadia Savings and Loan Association and when he was 34 he had already organized the Louisiana Bank and Trust Company.
When he was only 29 years old he became the youngest advisor on the staff of Governor Earl K. Long and he has been advisor to every succeeding governor since then.
At 30 he was the youngest Chairman of the Board of any financial institution in Louisiana and one of the youngest in the nation.
Judge Reggie retired from the Crowley Judgeship in 1975 and has resumed his fuiltime practice of law in the firm of Reggie, Harrington and Boswell.
Three years ago Governor Edwards named him Chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee on Reorganization of the Executive Branch of the State Government and he continues in that post, unpaid. Almost the entire Executive Branch has been totally reorganized under his leadership and the remaining portion will be completed this year.
Judge Reggie has served the nation as the personal Envoy of President John F. Kennedy to the countries of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. He presently serves on the Board of Selectors of the American Institute of Public Service. He is listed in Who's Who in America and other directories of leading Americans.
Judge Reggie has served as the Association's Chairman since its organization and in witnessing its 20th birthday with assets of over 40 million dollars he realizes the achievement of a goal set out two decades ago.
He is married to the former Doris Boustany and they have six children, Ed Michael, Vicki, Denis, Gregory, Alicia and Ray.
