NEW PRESIDENT – Superintendent of Acadia Parish 'Schools, Doctor John A. Bertrand is the new president of the Greater Crowley Chamber of Commerce. Last year, he served as president elect of the chamber and as chairman of the Organizational Improvement Division of the chamber. Bertrand is past president of the Crowley Kiwanis Club; and member of the American Legion; Knights of Columbus; Woodmen of the World; Board of Directors of Southern Educators Corporation; National Education Association; Louisiana Superintendents Association; American Association of School Administrators; and Phi Delta

Paul Haney will be the guest speaker at the Greater Crowley Chamber of Commerce Banquet, on Thursday, March 12, 1970, in the Rice Festival Building.
Paul Haney, vice president for public affairs for the Houston Astros and A strodomain, has made the move from one space motif to another.
Haney, a native of Akron, Ohio, joined the Houston Sports Association in October. 1969, following more than a decade with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Judge Roy llofheinz, when announcing lianey's appointment with the Astros and Astrodomain, commented to the news media that "the voice of the Astronauts will become the voice of the Astros."
Married and the father of five children, Haney makes his home in Clear Lake City, near Houston.
